Our Artist for this term is Michelle Stitzlein. Thanks to Jaiden for using her as inspiration for this great artwork!

At Home Learning

Welcome back Year 5!

We hope you had a nice half-term break. Your teachers will be back in school more frequently from this week, so we might not be available throughout the day. It's really important that you continue using the Oak National Academy lessons. Please post your work on DOJO - we really look forward to seeing what you've learnt.

Reading

Here are some of the books we've read since the lockdown began. These aren't children's books but we thought you'd like to see what we like to read.  Send us the names or pictures of the books you've read and we'll add them to the page. Let's see how many we can get!

The Oak National Academy has some excellent lessons online, especially English. Pupils should follow the link below, click on their year goup and follow the instructions. The maths follows a different pattern from the one we use at Beechwood, but the lessons are still good. Foundation covers sujects such as history, geography and languages and, again, may not be exactly what we would have covered in school, but these sessions will use the same skills.

9.30 each weekday morning -

Blue Peter Badges

There is an exciting opportunity from Blue Peter for the children to have a chance to earn Blue Peter badges! There is a range of activities they can do at home in order to earn them - for example, the children can either draw or take a picture of themselves trying out a new sport (eg: a new dance or exercise routine) in order to gain their Sport Badge. They can take part in a competition to receive their Orange Badge or share how they've helped the environment for their Green Badge.

There are 8 badges in total! Check out the website link to find out more!
