Digital Champions

Digital technology is a significant part of our everyday lives. We use technology throughout the day for all jobs and purposes. Therefore ensuring that all our pupils grow into responsible digital citizens who are able to use technology purposefully and safely is of upmost importance to us.

So what is a digital champion? What do they do?

A digital leader have been chosen from Years 3 - 6 as digital role models. Their role is to support the use of technology across the school. They do a variety of jobs including:

  • Support the use of iPads and computers in school to support learning

  • Share their skills and expertise with other pupils, classes and teachers.

  • Assist teachers and other pupils in understanding different applications.

  • Support teachers in using technology in the classroom as well as getting equipment ready and organised.

  • Share expertise with their peers.

  • Have a good understanding of how to stay safe with technology and share that with others.

  • Provide first line technical support in school.

  • Try out and review new apps, websites and programmes which could be used in lessons.

  • Interview and recruit new digital leaders in summer term from Year 2.

We have started an afterschool club where we can come together each week and work towards our Apple Teacher qualification supported by Miss Cook.
