Important
Lets get down to the nitty and gritty!
Here is all you need to know from school uniform to keeping children safe online.
Uniform
Your child is expected to wear the correct uniform each day.
This includes a white polo t-shirt, a red jumper with the school logo, black/ grey trousers or a black/grey skirt with black/grey tights and black school shoes.
Please label all uniform including coats, PE kits and shoes. It becomes extremely difficult to locate lost uniform without a name.
Your child will also need s PE kit. They are able to keep this in school. Thus should include a red t-shirt with the school logo, black shorts and black pumps.
Snack
Each day the children recieve a mid-morning snack of toast and water, and a mid-afternoon snack of fruit and milk/water. We offer this at a small cost of £1 a week payable to the class teacher.
This money also allows us to buy ingredients for making playdough with the children eack week to facilatate their learning and motor skills and ingredients for baking activites.
Lunch
All children in Reception are entitled to FREE SCHOOL MEALS or you can provide a healthy packed lunch from home. Please see our suggested pack lunch ideas below for healthy lunch box ideas or speak to your child's class teacher.
We understand some children can be choosey when it comes to lunch. We are here to help! We have worked with many parents in introducing new foods and school lunches to children. Please speak to your child's class teacher for more information on how we can support you and your child.
Tapestry
At Beechwood we use an online learning journey called Tapestry in Reception and Nursery. This allows us as class teachers to take pictures and videos of the children in their learning to track their achievements and progress.
As parents you will get a parent login so you can see your child's learning at home and on your mobile phone using the app. You can also add your own pictures and videos to share with the class teachers.
Class Dojo
As a school we use an app called 'Class Dojo' to reward childrens behaviour in school, to keep parents up to date with class news and to contact parents through a private message service. As a parent you will recieve a login from your child's class teacher and will recieive notifications for rewards and news posts.
E-Safety
As a school, we take safeguarding very seriously. This includes online safety and we are very aware that many children enjoy playing on tablets, phones and even with Alexa!
