Spring 2

This half term our maths focus will be numbers to 50. 

We have already learnt how to count from 0 to 50 both forwards and backwards as well as how to represet these numbers in differrent ways. 

We will now be focusing on our prior knowledge of one more and one less and applying this to numbers beyond 20. Then, we will look at comparing numbers to 50 using less than, greater than and equal to. 

Year 1 will then learn how to count in 2s and 5s up to 50. 

If you would like to help your child at home:

- Show them a number between 0-50, can they tell you what it is?

- Ask them to write a number between 0-50 in numbers or in words

- Show two different numbers between 0-50, can they tell you which is smallest or biggest?

- Ask your child to count out an amount of objects between 0-50 (eg: 6 apples in the supermarket or 30 peas on a plate etc)
