Spring Term
This term in English, we will be reading Jemmy Button by Jennifer Ulman and Valerio Vidal.
We will be writing our own return narrative and letter based on this book.

In Spring term, Year 3 will be covering the following units.
- Two-digit and one-digit Multiplication and Division
- Length and Perimeter
- Fractions
- Mass and Capacity
As always, we continue to learn our x3, x4 and x8 supported by TTRs.
As part of our history lessons we will be asking:
Who were the Ancient Greeks and what did we learn from them?
What were the main differences between Athens and Sparta?
What was daily life like in Ancient Greece?
Would you have enjoyed being a Greek Olympian?
What is democracy and what part did the Greeks have in creating it?
What impact did the Ancient Greeks have on our lives today?
During Spring term, children in Year 3 will carrying out science investigations linked to our previous topics.
We will be developing our scientific skills such as:
- Asking questions
- Making predictions
- Setting up investigations
- Observing and measuring
- Recording data
- Interpreting and communicating results
- Evaluting
