You Said … We Did ...

Parent Voice is extremely important to the staff at Beechwood.

We value you sharing your ideas and suggestions with us.

Here are some of the points that have been mentioned and the actions that we have taken.

It is difficult to drop multiple children off in the morning when they line up on different yards. We now open all classroom doors at 8.45am so children can be seen directly into class.
Homework projects can be hard to manage with busy schedules. We have set up a weekly homework club where pupils can complete projects, reading and maths tasks.
Breakfast club starting at 8.10am is difficult for working to parents to manage. We offer a free breakfast club each mornign but to make this more useful to our parents, it now opens at at 8.00am.
There needs to be more practice before sport competitions. We have timetables sport-based after school clubs carefully so that they feed directly into competitions. So far we have taken part in football, hockey and boccia.
Can there be more homework? The minimum expectation each week is to read to an adult at least 3 times, learn number facts/times tables and learn spellings.  There is also an optional project linked to Mission Possible and additional maths and English homework linked to what the pupils are learning that week.
