The Victorians

Queen Victoria - Wikipedia

We will begin by learning about Queen Victoria through the use of timelines and we will compare her life to that of Queen Elizabeth II.

Using our historical enquiry skills, we will explore different sources such as photos and diary entries from the past to find out what it was like in the Victorian times. We will begin by comparing rich and poor families in these times by exploring the different jobs children would have had and what their childhood would have been like. We will explore what schools were like in the past and make comparisons with present-day schools.

Victorian Child Labor and the Conditions They Worked In

After this we will explore Victorian toys, using real artefacts to support our learning. We will handle and observe these artefacts to help us answer questions about the past and communicate our knowledge through drama and writing.
