Reading Buddies and Ambassadors

Reading Buddies and Ambassadors have been selected from pupils in Years 4 to 6 and aim to be a role model to others through sharing their love of reading.

They provide additional weekly reading support to children in Years 1 to 3.

The Buddies have been trained in the best way to support the younger readers in school and do a fantastic job.

They spend time reading the younger pupils books, supporting them on how to read certain words that they struggle with and asking questions about what they have read to aid their comprehension. 

The Ambassadors champion reading across the school and help to organise reading events like World Book Day and the annual Book Fair.

The Reading Buddies are supported by Miss Jakeman and the Reading Ambassadors are supported by Mrs Windel and Mrs Basford.
