Wellbeing
Pupil and staff wellbeing is extremely important at Beechwood. We have lots of different initiatives which support our pupils in this area and enable the to thrive.
These include:
- Golden Mile.
- Moki bands in KS2.
- 'Whisper Wednesday'
- Pupil wellbeing team overseen by the school counsellor.
- Physical after school clubs including lots of football and a dedicated girls’ football team.
- Pupil Responsibilities – prefects, charity reps, safeguarding council, playleaders, reading buddies, eco warriors, future leaders, attendance monitors, young interpreters.
- Enhanced Curriculum.
- Dojo behaviour reward system.
- Celebration Assemblies.
- VIP assemblies.
- A school counsellor and counselling sessions.
- Group pastoral work.
- Regular Forest School sessions.
- Links with the MHST.
- Mental health progress tracking where appropriate.
- Regular consultations with the Educational Psychology Team.
