Blended Learning
As part of our effort to go the extra miles for pupils and families, in 2022 Beechwood Primary decided to invest in digital tools to create a more supportive and effective learning environment.
Every child in Year 3 to Year 6 now has access to an iPad which is used throughout the day in a blended learning approach.
We chose Showbie as our blended learning platform because it gives children the opportunity to actively engage during every part of the lesson and teachers to ability to give personalised feedback.
Children learn how to take ownership of their learning and become independent. Showbie gives children the opportunity to work collaboratively, developing their speaking and listening skills as well as preparing them for a world of technology.
It also means that children are given an equitable access to technology meaning that children that may not have access to tablets, phones or internet are not disadvantaged. Children will have access to Spelling Shed, MyOn and Times Tables Rockstars on a daily basis.
