You Said, We Did ...

Parent Voice is extremely important to the staff at Beechwood.

We value you sharing your ideas and suggestions with us.

Here are some of the points that have been mentioned and the actions that we have taken.

ISSUE SOLUTION
It is difficult to drop multiple children off in the morning when they line up on different yards. We now open all classroom doors at 8.45am so children can be seen directly into class.
Homework projects can be hard to manage with busy schedules. We have set up a weekly study support club where pupils can complete projects, reading and maths tasks.
Breakfast club starting at 8.10am is difficult for working to parents to manage. We offer a breakfast club each morning that starts at 7.45am. For a small fee of £1.50, children can take part in a range of fun and engaging activities. A healthy breakfast is included in the price too.
There needs to be more practice before sport competitions. We have timetabled sport-based after school clubs carefully so that they feed directly into competitions. These will change each half term.
Can there be more homework?

The minimum expectation each week is to read to an adult at least 3 times, learn number facts/times tables and learn spellings.  There is also an optional project linked to Mission Possible. Children in Years 5 and 6 are expected to complete their workbooks each week fpr maths and SPAG.
