Rolling Numbers

To prepare children for knowing their times tables fluently, we learn our "Rolling Numbers". We do call-and-response chanting while counting off on our fingers as we go.

This will support quick recall when we learn the times tables as we move through Years 2 - 6.

By the end of Year 2 we learn to count in 2s, 5s and 10s.

By the end of Year 3 we learn to count in 3s, 4s, and 8s.

By the end of Year 4 we learn to count in 6s, 7s, 9s, 11s and 12s to get ready for the statutory Multiplication Check in Year 4.
